Folic Acid Determination in Food Samples Using Green Synthesized Copper Oxide Nanoparticles and Electro-Poly (Methyl Orange) Sensor

Abstract Copper (II) oxide nanoparticles (CuONPs) were green synthesized using Ocimum basilicum leaves aqueous extract in which polyphenols act as reducing and stabilizing agents. The CuONPs characterized X-ray diffraction spectroscopy, Fourier transform infrared transmission electron microscopy, selected area diffraction, Brunauer–Emmett–Teller (BET) surface analysis. analyses indicated the formation of crystalline rod-like monoclinic pure with a mean grain size 15 nm, 396 m 2 g ?1 , total pore volume 0.71 cm 3 . A glassy carbon electrode (GCE) was modified electropolymerized poly(methyl orange) (PMO). PMO/CuONPs/GCE electrochemically applied for estimation folic acid (FA) by cyclic voltammetry, chronoamperometry, linear sweep differential pulse voltammetry techniques. influence pH (7), scan rate (50 mV/s), supporting electrolyte (0.1 M KCl) FA concentration has been optimized. is precisely determined range from 0.01 to 1.5 µ? low detection limit (0.002 µ?), quantitation (0.068 high reproducibility (RSD 0.37, 10 measurements), stability (98% activity after 50 days). food samples new sensor recoveries 93 108.8%.
